"I was hoping for a total blackout effect with these blinds, and am pretty satisfied. If I ordered them again, I'd ask that the sides not be automatically cut down at the factory, as just a tiny bit less than the window opening is really what needs to be covered to get the best effect. Also be aware that if the blind is not completely recessed, light will seep in through the sides a bit. I'm going to add some flexible foam strips to the side of each window, using them only when I want complete blackout. By the way, the cordless option is worth the extra bucks - really easy to operate and much nicer looking than cords. All in all, a very good product."

"We installed the single cell blackout shades in our baby's nursery and they look great! We love the neutral color and the cordless feature. The blackout shades do block almost all the light which is great for baby daytime naps. The light that does get through is just along the side window edges and could be covered with drapes. The top down feature is wonderful and adds the needed privacy for our large window."

"We've had the blinds for a year, and up until recently would have given them a 5 star rating across the board, only the plastic piece on each of the strings has cracked (on all 4 blinds). I think my husband called this peice the guard. It says Hunter Douglas on it. Normal opening and closing of the blinds, no small children torquing on them or anything. We are dissapointed but contacting the company to see if we can get replacements."

"This blind is just what we needed to sleep well during the day. This blind is also in our children's rooms. Now when we put them down for a nap, they go right to sleep since the blind helps to simulate night time. The blind looks good from the outside as well, matching the other blinds in our house."

"The order process was very easy because Blinds.com has a great website! It's very detailed, easy to get around the site and I absolutely love the "personal chat people" to answer my questions instantly! I actually ordered a Hunter Douglas cell blind and I wanted a color I didn't see on your site. I asked the chat people (who were very helpful) and they said I could order the color I wanted - I just had to call the 800 number and not place my order on-line. "I would just like to thank you for my first blinds purchase. It was kind of a test of your service as we have many more windows to upgrade. Well, you passed with flying colors. The product is excellent with exacting measurements and your customer service was great. I needed to call with a measuring question before ordering and was surprised to get an actual friendly person on the line to answer it. Then, after 2 weeks went by, I used your live-chat feature after business hours and got an immediate update on shipping. Also, I've ordered samples 4 times which I'm sure is a real pain for your staff. Rest assured that we will be ordering blinds for the rest of our windows by the end of the year."
