The Phifer 2000, 4000, 4800 & 5000 series fabrics in this collection have an average openness of 5% to 7%. These solar shades have a decorative design made expressly for those insulating and glare-blocking applications which require a more private and non-directional fabric. The material is a PVC-coated fiberglass yarn.All Sheerweave roller shades come standard with a continuous loop clutch mechanism for easy control. This system raises and lowers the sun shades smoothly and evenly for trouble-free performance. No more long, dangling cords or frustrating cord locks or cleats. A beaded chain comes standard. Reverse roll is also available. This option reverses the fabric to roll from the front of the roller instead of the back. This option is used most often to bypass obstructions which might have otherwise been obstructed by the fabric.On inside mount roller shades the fabric will be 7/8" to 1" narrower than the roller measurement. This allows space for the shade to operate properly and is true on all brands of roller shades. You may compensate for this by adding to your width measurement and opting for an outside mount. "I am very pleased with the overall product and the friendly customer support. The only thing I would recommend is if the rolling mechanism on the top can be symetrical on the chain control side. Another words, when you look up on the rolled up shade, the chain controlled side is with a bracket, the other is without, leaving it looked incomplete and exposed. But everything else looked great!"

"WE RECEIVED OUR BLINDS AND THEY ARE QUALITY SHADES THAT WORK EXCELLENTLY TO BLOCK BRIGHT SUN AND HEAT AND YET WE CAN STILL SEE OUT THE WINDOW! WE PUT THEM IN OUR STORE SO IT IS VITALLY IMPORTANT THAT WE HAVE A GOOD VIEW OF WHAT IS GOING ON OUTSIDE. THEY WERE EASY TO INSTALL AND WE THINK THEY WILL PAY FOR THEMSELVES IN COOLING BILLS."

"The spring loaded ends of this product are way too specific & tight; just 1/16th" off in measurement makes the difference as to whether or not the shade will fit! I see that as huge design flaw. However, the customer service did work with me and come up with a solution that made me happy & overall very satisfied one I received my reorder. I will be ordering more shades myself due to their good service!"

"We are extremely pleased with the Solar Shade. It does cut down the afternoon sun through our kitchen window a great deal. You can still see out the window. You cannot see in the window from the outside. Only disappointment was with the "color coordinated" plastic chain. The chain is a bright white and the shade is more of an off white (White Bond P04) - but not a big deal. Overall, very satisfied."

"Great experience, ordering from blinds.com. I had to call and speak with a representative, because I was trying to match blinds that were already in my home for about 11 years. We did! Exact color and looks great. Sarah, Cindy and Lance (I think I got that right) were all professional and very helpful. Also, the solar shade ordering was easy and the product excellent. "I loved the bronze color we chose. The craftsmanship was not very consistent. One of the blinds was not centered right. It has more white rod showing. It makes the blinds look cheap. For that price($60) I was surprised."

"We are slowly outfitting our newly built house with items froms blinds.com. We ordered cellular shades when we first moved in and were impressed with blinds.com's quality and customer service. We recently decided we needed to do something in our sun room now that is finally getting sunny here in upstate new york. We ordered some samples of various solar shades and decided to go with the Premium Sheerweave Solar Shade. It is not a decision we regret. They look great either up or down and really help with the sun heat and glare."

"We were quoted a price of $339 per window by a local decorator but we purchased 3 tiger bark oak solar shades from Blinds.com for $72 a window! My husband installed in them in less than an hour and they look great. I have a beautiful view of a golf green, pond, and tree lined creek and these solar shades maintain my view and give the privacy I was looking for."

"We have a beautiful west facing view, but on a sunny day the rooms would be baking. These shades don't block the view, but what a difference in room temperature! We'll certainly save on air-conditioning this summer.

I just got them, so I don't know how they hold over the years. We'll see."

"I find Blinds.com to be the best if I do my job correctly. This means you have to measure twice to make sure you blind sizes are correct. Then, confirm your order each step of the way. I have NEVER had an error with Blinds.com that I did not create. Their work is perfect and consistent. It is also fairly priced and they ship quickly. Bottom line is I have returned to them time and time again. I will keep doing so. They are a great American company."

"I live with a great view of the city. I didn't want to block the view, but needed to dim the light. These are perfect. I lower them at night with ease and raise them during the day for light. If I'm lazy, they still show the nice view even while lowered. Great product and very easy to install."

"Needing seven light filtering treatments for a new sunroom, we narrowed our preference to the Premium Sheerweave Solar Shade on Blinds.com after extensive internet searching. We requested fabric samples which was helpful to confirm our color choice. Even with Blinds.com prices being reasonable this was a substantial purchase so we decided to be careful and ordered one as a test. It was just as advertised, although, we did make the mistake of adding an eighth of an inch on the width as another reviewer had recommended which made it too tight. We ordered the exact size on the other six and they fit perfectly. We chose the beaded metal chain which we think looks better; we also chose the metal bar insert for the bottom hem which we also recommend because the weight is needed. Ordering was easy and the shades arrived very quickly. Blinds.com even notified us when it appeared the fabric was delayed which might slow the order, although, that didn't happen. These sun filtering (but not sight blocking) shades are just what we needed, are relatively easy to install, look good, work well, and are reasonably priced. We have no qualms about recommending these shades and Blinds.com."

"I chose these blinds for my sun room. They are perfect. They block the glare, but not the view. They are well made and relatively inexpensive. I installed them by myself in about 30 minutes. The hardest part was unpacking them. They are the perfect finish for my room."
