"I had previously ordered room darkening pleated shades from a major department store/catalog retailer. I had even had them installed in my home, but I was extremely disappointed in the overall poor quality of the items, considering that I waited six weeks for my shades to arrive, when it had been stated it would take two weeks for my order to ship. I then found your company advertised in a magazine and decided to check it out. I ordered new room darkening cellular shades from you and was amazed at the difference in quality when the product arrived. I then had the already hanging shades removed and replaced them with yours and boy, am I glad I did. Needless to say the first shades were returned to the retailer for a full refund. Thanks for a quality product that fits perfectly and arrived in the specified times stated."

"I recently purchased cellular blinds for the master bedroom. They arrived quickly (within 1 week). My husband did the installation and did not encounter any problems. The fit was perfect. They are truly room darkening and add alot of insullation to the windows. I definitely would order again from Blinds.Com."

"I replaced all windows in my house and somehow the windows in the bedrooms happen to be slightly wider than the old ones, so I had to order new wider blackout cellular shades. I was not too concerned about the insulation anymore since I now have double pane windows but I like my room pitch black at night.
The shades I ordered don't darken the rooms as well as what I had before. It could be because I went from a cream color to white, but more likely it's because the material is thinner than the what I had before.
Also light filters through the bottom and top bars of the shade. The ones I had before didn't have a bar at the bottom and the top bar didn't let light through.

Last but not least, I ordered a no cord, push up and pull down shade system, and it takes time to bring them back up (yet they are only 53" long). You need to go slowly a little at a time all the way to the top or it won't go up. It's actually faster and more convenient to have a cord on one side than to grab the shade from the bottom and in the middle to bring it back up slowly. The lift cord system is also cheaper!
Other than that they do look very good and they are not difficult to install if you use shorter screws that what is provided. I put them up myself.

"I put 7 of these blinds up in about an hour. They fit perfectly and look great. The blackout feature really does block out light well and I can feel the stark difference in temperature between the window and shade and the room. Can't wait to see difference in heating bill this winter!"

"I was skeptical ordering blinds online, but couldn't be happier with my purchase. Ordering was easy, and installation was even easier. A retailer wanted $1500 for the blinds I got for $480, need I say more. I scored it a 4 on apperance only for the fact that the header only comes in white."

Few glitches, but a very good value, October 16, 2009

"In the last 16 years have installed 80+ cellular shades in 4 homes. Installed these, some Hunter-Douglas , some Bali shades in current home.

Overall, these are a very good value. They look nearly as good as the Hunter-Douglas Applause shades I also purchased (within 95%) and are just as easy to install (which, unfortunately, is a pretty low bar). You can tell the quality of the components is a little less (but, hey, they cost half as much -- what do you want?). For example, in the top-down, bottom-up shades, the fabric does not readily "accordion" down and stack neatly on the window sill if you lower the shades from the top.

There were/are a few glitches. For example, on one shade, the little "bump" where the cord is joined to form the loop (continuous loop option) always catches in the cord-loop holder. Additionally, two of the top-down shades arrived very slightly damaged. It was a 10 minute fix with some polyurethane glue, so no big deal to me, but many people go into the rafters if the new product they ordered doesn't arrive in pristine, perfect, shape. So be warned.

I would use these again for sure except for very large windows (say over 5 ft wide and 5 ft tall) where you'd probably be better off paying a little more to get better quality in the headrail, cords, fabric, and controls.

"The blackout bind does the job what it is supposed to do, and it does it the way we wanted.

The installation was a bit tricky. This was simply because too many options were available, and they were bit confusing. But once the installation is done, it is very easy to use.

"This is our second purchase from Blinds.com We returned because we were able to buy what we wanted with the features we wanted. The black out shades feature is great, we have never slept so good! The TDBU was originally purchased for the living room to keep the dog from barking at people going by. It worked! She is never in the window now because we keep the top down, it's also nice to see trees instead of houses out the window."

"These shades really block out the light. We bought one for each of our children's bedrooms. We are vey impressed with how much light is blocked out. We also love the cordless feature. We didn't know we could get cordless for a 85" wide shade. The cordless feature works great. The customer service department was very friendly and responded promply. Great shades! Great company!"

"The only problem I have with this blind it when you go to push it up, it seems like the spring to re-wind the blind is to weak. You have to push it up slowly and wait for the string to re-wind. Not the greatest!
I needed several more for my house, but I won't purchase any more of these.

"The blinds pull up from the bottom (I guess because
they are not very heavy and the bottom support
isn't heavy enough to hold them down.
If I had known this I would have ordered the bottom
support brackets to hold them down better.
Otherwise, I am happy with the blinds, they do keep
most of the light out.

"We just built a new house and needed several blinds. A friend of my daughter's told us about Blinds.com so I thought I would give them a try. I ordered samples, which came very quickly, and then I proceeded to order two of the small blinds as I wanted to check out the quality. I was VERY happy with the quality and ordered the blinds for the rest of the house, some were room darkening and others were light filtering. The room darkening blinds came on time but the color that I ordered for the light filtering was on back order so they were about a week late. Our blinds are all up and they look great. One last thing, the customer service is absolutely fantastic!!"
